Duncan Livingston was born in 1822 in Aldbourgh, Elgin, Ontario, Canada, to Neil Livingston and Janet McNair. He married Mary McFarlane in April 1846. They had eight children: Margaret, Sarah, Neil, Flora, Janet, Mary, Donald, and Duncan (junior). Duncan Livingston passed away on December 13, 1864, in Mosa, Middlesex, Ontario, and is buried in Lambton, Ontario, in the Kilmartin Cemetery. Gardner, Archibald, 1815-1902

Archibald Gardner (1815-1902) was born in Kilsyth, Scotland, and emigrated to Ontario, Canada, in 1822. He started a grist mill and saw mill in Alvinston, Ontario, but left Canada in 1846 after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and other Mormons fleeing Canada met with American Mormons at Winter Quarters, Nebraska, and arrived in Salt Lake City in 1847.
